On Saturday 1st August from midnight until much later you’re invited to a one-off summer special ‘Not Forgotten Club Classics’ Pride (Brighton) After Party at OM Bar.
The Balearic Brothers & Guests will be digging deep into their record boxes & playing all the best quality club classics from the 70’s, 80’s. 90’s, all the way up to the present day, and it’s most dedinately going to be a night to remember!
Special guests joining us on the night will be Justin Garrett, resident dj at the famous 90’s Scream night in Plymouth, and well known to Balearic Jukebox regulars @ OM for his amazing sets in the legendary toilets alongside Dez, plus we also have Tim Rivers from the excellent blog site theacidhouse :

Producer, songwriter, musician and Balearic DJ sound pioneer PHIL MISON is our very special guest at Balearic Jukebox on Saturday 6th of June.
REVERSO 68 is the studio based project of Phil Mison and Pete Herbert. The two met many moons ago whilst Phil was a resident at the Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza and bought records from Pete who was running the infamous Atlas Records vinyl emporium in Soho, London at the time. Over the last few years REVERSO 68 have released some of the best modern Balearic music around. They appear regularly on uber cool Belgian label Eskimo Recordings (alongside the much hyped Aeroplane), and you should check ‘Piece Together’, ‘Especial’, and ‘Tokyo Disco’ now! The REVERSO 68 sound has been described as a mix of Balearic disco and spaced-out melodic moments made with the dancefloor in mind, and we think that’s a perfect recipe for a Balearic Jukebox party!
Phil Mison has also championed the chill-out music genre since its inception in the early-90s, after being inspired by listening to Jose Padilla at the Cafe Del Mar. He began his long DJ career at London’s famed Milk Bar in 1991, segued into producing after a decade DJing around the world and touring with bands such as Leftfield. In 1995, he released the first of his Soundcolours compilation, the groundbreaking series that featured electronic music, mixed for mood over the traditional beat match. Ten compilations later, including Real Ibiza compilations 3 through 7, Mison has exported this island flavour into crafting an original artist album as Cantoma. Phil Mison is a truly Balearic soul, so come and check him out!

We’ve been waiting for Jon Marsh (The Beloved) to play at the Jukebox again ever since he wowed everyone with his legendary balearic DJ set for us last summer. An aborted return for our 1st Birthday Party celebrations in December (due to illness) has meant that it’s now been a whole year since Jon last graced our decks. He’ll be joining our resident Balearic Brothers for what promises to be one of the best nights of the year so far ! Expect the unexpected !
As a founder of The Beloved, Jon has been responsible for some seminal music over the past 20 years including dance classics such as ‘Sun Rising’, ‘Sweet Harmony’, ‘Satellite’, ‘Your Love Takes Me Higher’, ‘Time After Time’, ‘Hello’ and ‘Crystal Wave’ to name just a few plus he is also an extremely well established and highly respected DJ who has toured the world and held residencies at clubs such as Fabric (London).
We are very much looking forward to having him play for us again in Brighton and hope you all come down to join us on the 2nd May, he has promised a ‘very special set’ so make sure you’re in early !!

On Saturday April 4th – The Balearic Brothers bring you the first Balearic Jukebox party of 2009 at the newly re-furbed OM Bar in Brighton, complete with a ‘fully rocking soundsystem’. We are very proud to announce another inspirational DJ guest in the shape of Richard Norris (The Grid / Beyond The Wizards Sleeve / The Time & Space Machine) who will be playing an exclusive ‘Balearic Set’ for us on the night….one not to be missed !!
This promises to be a very special party as Richard will be playing a selection of the finest Balearic influenced tunes, some that haven’t been heard for quite a while. He has been responsible for many classic tracks over the past 20 years as a founding partner in The Grid alongside Soft Cell’s Dave Ball, they produced such seminal records as ‘Flotation’, ‘Crystal Clear, ‘Figure Of Eight’, ‘Rollercoaster’ and ‘Swamp Thing’ and these have most certainly helped to make Richard a true dance music legend, so we can expect another legendary DJ set at the Balearic Jukebox !

Balearic Jukebox New Year Celebrations !
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone that attended our ‘Super Stylish New Year’s Eve Shindig’ @ The Open House Pub in Brighton….The bar staff were amazing in their ‘super-hero’ outfits and looked after a very busy bar supremely well and then there was our ‘awesome’ sound system downstairs which was installed and managed by Peter & Jay from ‘Horn-It Soundsystems‘, it went down an absolute storm and sounded super PHAT all night, well done chaps we will be seeing you again very soon !!
What a great night !!
Big respect is due to The Balearic Brothers and Just Jack for rocking it ‘big style’ in the main room and also how could we forget our dear friends Sonic Safari who tore it up in the upstairs saloon…. Amazing music was heard throughout the pub all night long with some very special highlights for everyone !
This ‘Sold Out’ event certainly brought the New Year in with a very large bang and this was our most successful party so far…we had a fantastic atmosphere all night long inside Brighton’s premier pub venue and we drew a superb party crowd that made this a very special night all round for everyone involved and we hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did !!
